Google Pixel 6 is almost entirely out of the curtains even before its launch. The phone has extensively appeared in leaks, but the latest one is by far the most comprehensive and detailed yet, showing almost everything the phone has to offer.
This leak was sourced by the British retailer website Carphone Warehouse yet again. It shows a very official-looking spec sheet for the Google Pixel 6 phones.
Here is all you need to know about the Google Pixel 6 duo before their launch.
Design and Display
The Google Pixel 6 Pro will feature a 6.7” LTPO OLED panel with support for variable high refresh rates. This means that the screen is 120Hz by default, but can dial down the refresh to 10Hz standing still to save battery. It will be protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus and will also carry IP68 dust and water resistance.
The base Pixel 6 will have a smaller 6.4-inch screen, but this will be a standard OLED panel without LTPO. It will have a high refresh rate (120Hz), but will not support a variable refresh rate. It will have the same Gorilla Glass Victus and IP68 protection.
Internals and Storage
Both phones will be powered by Google’s custom Tensor chip which features onboard AI for improved hardware-accelerated features such as Night Sight, Portrait Mode, and the new Magic Eraser (more on that in the Cameras section).
This chip is optimized for power efficiency but it’s still said to be 80% faster than the Pixel 5’s Snapdragon 765G. We don’t know any performance numbers yet, but this should put it in the flagship ballpark. The Tensor chip will be paired with Google’s own Titan M2 chip for security.
Memory configurations have not been seen through retailer leaks yet.
Cameras
The Google Pixel 6 duo is expected to have the most advanced camera setup ever seen on a Pixel smartphone. The 50MP main sensor is much bigger than the Pixel 5’s tiny sensor. This lets it capture 150% more light, which should produce much better nighttime photos.
This will be paired with a 48MP telephoto sensor with support for 4x optical zoom and 20x Super Res Zoom. The leak doesn’t talk much about the ultrawide camera, but only that it will be a 12MP shooter.
The selfie camera will be a fairly wide lens as well with a 94º FOV.
As for the AI-powered Magic Eraser feature, this will let you remove unwanted objects or people within a few seconds through Google Photos.
Battery and Pricing
The Pixel 6 Pro will flaunt 30W wired charging which will fuel it up to 50% in only 30 minutes. There will also be 23W fast wireless charging and reverse charging. The standard Pixel 6 will have the same fast charging tech, but battery numbers have not been shown yet.
However, battery life is rumored to be much better than previous generations.
The Google Pixel 6 duo is set to launch on October 19 with an expected price range of €650 – €700.
