Google’s I/O conference is happening later today where the search engine giant is expected to announce official details on Android 12. However, just ahead of the official announcement, there has been another leak on the upcoming OS, claiming that Google has major UI changes in store for us.
Renowned tipster Jon Prosser cites an inside source from Google claiming that Android 12 will have a re-designed UI with stronger privacy and security.
According to his report, the new design will bring reworked toggles, buttons, widgets, and even new animations. Almost everything is due for a design change, including the media player in the notification shade, the keyboard, app icons, and the overall aesthetic of Android. The new design will resemble iOS.
The upcoming version of Android may also allow you to group notifications from different apps as you like. Check out some of the changes in the screenshot below.
There are no details on security and privacy updates just yet and it is unclear what Google means by “all of your devices working better together”. However, there are more details on the UI updates in the tipster’s YouTube video down below. There is also news on the Google Pixel 6 included in the video.
