Morris Garages (MG) Pakistan is seemingly ready to bring the ZS EV out on the roads very soon, as it has released its official specs and features for the Pakistani market.
As expected, the ZS EV is loaded with the following modern features such as:
Dusk sensing headlights
Heated front seats
Multiple drive modes
Electronic stability programming
Pedestrian Alert Control System
Adaptive Cruise Control
Lane Departure Warning
Traffic Jam Assist
Blind Spot Monitoring (among other driver-assist features)
The ZS EV will be offered in 4 body colors, namely; Dover White, Diamond Red, Pearl Black, and Copenhagen Blue. The vehicle will be offered with a 5 year/150,000-kilometer powertrain and electronics warranty (whichever arrives first) and an 8 year/150,000-kilometer battery warranty (whichever comes first).
Here is a more extensive list of all the features that have been incorporated into the ZS EV for the Pakistani market:
The MG ZS EV is the ‘first in its segment’ all-electric SUV that has no competitors in the local market for now, and this gives it a huge advantage over other EVs that might come to Pakistan in the future.
MG has also begun test drives of the ZS EV which has received rave reviews for its features, performance, and overall driving experience.
However, the public is concerned about the limited EV charging infrastructure in Pakistan which could hamper the EV ownership experience. Although the range of the EV is 320 km on a single charge, there is only a handful of EV chargers across the country, and this could make recharging the vehicle a hassle.
Their other concern is the price tag of Rs. 6.85 million which is too high for most local buyers and is indicative that the ZS EV is likely to be targeted at a limited number of buyers.
Considering all these factors, it will be interesting to see how MG establishes its value and desirability in the Pakistani market as the majority of buyers hail from the low and mid-tier socio-economic classes.
