The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to establish an Online Sabzi Mandi to ensure the provision of quality household commodities at citizens’ doorsteps.

A mobile app is currently under the development process which will be available on the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store by the end of the month. Using the app, citzens will be able to order groceries and fruits online at government notified rates without any delivery charges.

According to the Directorate General Information of KP, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan will inaugurate the service in January.

In the first phase, the online facility will be introduced in four districts of the province including, Mardan, Abbottabad, Peshawar, and Dera Ismail Khan.

These online markets will provide all household items such as vegetables, fruits, grains and other food items on government rates.

Note that a similar initiative was launched by the city administration of the federal capital, Islamabad, earlier last month. DC Islamabad, Hamza Shafqaat, said that the app was aimed to control illegal price hikes by shop owners in the city.
