Initially, the Nokia 9.2 was promised to launch in the Q1 2020; however, to make it a better competitor in the 2020 smartphone market, HMD Global decided to push forward the launch to Fall 2020.
Where this news was very disappointing for Nokia Fans, it gives the company enough time to tweak the internals. HMD Global has decided to shift from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 to Snapdragon 865 that all the other OEMs will be using in their flagship models.
Apart from this, based on the recent leaks and rumors, HMD Global is going to pull a first in the Nokia world, i.e., Nokia 9.2 might come with an under-display selfie camera. This news comes our way via a reliable source that has been known to provide accurate information in the past.
According to the source, the camera is still in testing phases. This technology is not unheard of, previously Oppo and Xiaomi demonstrated a similar camera but were adamant that the technology needs to go a long way before it can ship with commercial smartphones.
It looks like HMD Global wants to lead the race; however, considering the technology is still in the testing phase, we might not see it in a retail device anytime soon if the company cannot pull through.
Nokia 9.2 has already been in the headlines for its unique rear camera arrangement.
